It gives me great pleasure to write in support of the Cindy Knight Clinic at Hildenborough, Tonbridge, Kent, regarding the treatment that I have recently received.

The members of staff at the clinic were friendly and pleasant from the outset and readily put me at ease. As a male aged 65, I was somewhat apprehensive about attending the clinic in the first place and even more apprehensive about the Accent RF treatment.

My target was to lose some middle age spread around the middle and to get my waistline back from 34 inches to 32 inches. I planned to do this by having Accent RF treatment (that had been recommended by a male friend) in conjunction with joining a gym.

The initial form filling session went smoothly and I started the treatment immediately.

I cannot speak highly enough of Leah who looked after me during my 12 treatment sessions. She has excellent customer service skills and every treatment session was carried out in a professional and relaxed atmosphere. Leah has the ability to make clients feel at ease, even during moments of "discomfort" associated with the RF treatment. Her first concern was always my care and welfare.

My initial "fears" and apprehension quickly disappeared and the treatment, I consider, has been very successful - I have reached my initial targets.

I actually enjoyed my visits to the clinic and would recommend it to others.

What is cellulite?
In basic terms, cellulite is a thick, gelatin-like substance that collects within skin's tissue. Your body's muscles are wrapped in fatty connective tissue, and when the natural process of cleansing and nourishing from body fluids slows down, this thick substance forms and creates a puckered, 'orange peel' effect on the outer skin.

What causes it?
Cellulite is far more common among women than men, which indicates that hormonal differences play a major role in its formation. While cellulite tends to appear in parts of the body where excess fat is deposited, it is widespread among both thin and overweight women.

How does Accent work on cellulite?
Accent radiofrequency applies deep, dermal heating to fat bundles, which encourages new collagen formation in the skin, and effectively remodels it. This dermal heating also stimulates blood circulation, which helps your body to drain trapped fatty deposits and toxins. Finally, the thermal activity from the radiofrequency helps to actually shrink fat cells.

What can I expect during treatment?
After a full consultation whereby your treatment plan, expectations and desired results are discussed, you will undergo a body examination whereby your problem areas will be highlighted. When treatment commences, the accent tip will be applied to your skin, precisely heating the skin's inner layer (dermis), while its outer layer (epidermis) is continually cooled. Depending on the size of the treated area, treatment may take from about 15 to 50 minutes. Once your treatment has ended, you can immediately go back to you usual day-to-day activities - no rest period is required. You may notice slight temporary redness, which should disappear in less than 24 hours.

Does Accent treatment hurt?
Most patients describe the sensation of Accent treatment as a warm massage. The majority of patients feel little or no discomfort during Accent treatment.
